Politics: Doing Good vs. Doing Well

Mark Twain said “we’re lucky we don’t get all the government we pay for!”

He knew, and our Founding Fathers knew that government is like fire, a useful servant or a fearful master.

Starting in the 1930’s Roosevelt cynically built a political dynasty on his theme, “Tax-tax, spend-spend, elect-elect.” They set about spending our money to fund special interests. In return the special interests, and there are many, did the work of getting out the vote for them. Since any of these schemes were socialistic in nature we found ourselves, the productive taxpayers, funding those who would abuse us. Our own money was often turned against us.

We need to reduce taxing and spending not only to balance the budget, but to defund the abuse.

Another precept to keep in mind is the Assessor’s Creed. “If they spend it, we will tax you for it!” The way to reduce taxes is to prevent spending, that means you must find out what is going on in time to stop it.

The liberals are concocting spending and regulating schemes faster than we can respond. It’s like Hercules fighting the Hydra- as fast as he cuts one head off, another one or two grow in its place.

There is a fundamental way out of this. Our present public education has been called the Education Finance Monopoly cursed with a selfish union. The result has been a devastating failure of the primary and secondary education system, the worst in the industrial world. More than that, this system is prevented from teaching religion or morals and ethics that are based on religion. As a result our children are brought up with nothing better that “situational ethic,” which I would define as “logical selfishness.”

Our youth are being brought up in a creed with no values, certainly no American values or any devotion to our wonderful American Constitution.

Successful religions and the Communist party itself realize that if you educate the children properly you can inculcate a system of values. Unless we inculcate good American values and the moral principles that were instilled by our forefathers we will continue to face all forms of violence and personal selfishness, and disrespect for our traditional values.

There is a socialist mindset that is being instilled in our children by this godless union government monopoly. Until we displace that we are going to continue to be fighting the Hydra.
